The property lies within a 1,300-acre private wildlife sanctuary, home to freely roaming giraffes, zebras, impalas, warthogs, and abundant birdlife. Originally built as a countryside haven, the club has retained its classic, old-world charm, offering a warm and homely atmosphere that reflects its heritage.

Accommodation includes a collection of cozy cottages, family units, and suites, many featuring fireplaces and views of either the Aberdare ranges or Mount Kenya. The lodge is also well known for its 9-hole high-altitude golf course, one of the most scenic in the region, where wildlife often wanders across the fairways.

Guests can enjoy a wide range of activities, including guided nature walks, horseback riding, birdwatching, mountain biking, and relaxing spa treatments. The restaurant offers a rustic, fireside dining experience with fresh ingredients and a mix of Kenyan and continental dishes.

As the official gateway to The Ark Lodge, Aberdare Country Club provides a seamless blend of relaxation, adventure, and highland charm, making it one of the most appealing country retreats in the Aberdare region.
