Starts from and returns to Mombasa, Kilifi, Bamburi, and the North Coast, we collect you directly from your hotel or resort. Over 3 days you’ll cover two of Kenya’s biggest parks, Tsavo East and Tsavo West, tracking red-dust elephants, maneless Tsavo lions, and the Big Five from a private 4×4 jeep with your own experienced, multi-lingual guide. Tsavo East’s open plains make for easy, reliable game spotting, while Tsavo West brings volcanic hills, baobab trees, and spring-fed pools into the mix, a genuinely different landscape just a short drive apart. Everything is covered: park fees, game drives, meals, and your choice of economy, comfort, or luxury accommodation. Dates are flexible, and we can build the trip around you even on short notice.
Early pickup from your hotel or resort. Drive out along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway, watching the coastal landscape give way to bushland as you approach the park gate. Enter Tsavo East for your first game drive, keeping an eye out for elephant herds, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, and the park’s resident lions. Check in at your lodge or camp in the late afternoon, followed by dinner and an overnight stay inside or near the park.
The park is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust-red elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbuck, Lesser kudu, Gerenuk and Hirola.
Rise early for a sunrise game drive through Tsavo East’s open plains, when wildlife is most active. Head toward the watering holes, a favourite spot for the park’s red-dust elephants. After breakfast, transfer toward Tsavo West, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, set out on a game drive through Tsavo West’s hillier, greener terrain, tracking the Big Five and passing striking baobab trees along the way. Overnight at your chosen lodge or tented camp.
Leopard, Wild dogs, Buffalo, Rhino, Elephants, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion , Crocodile. Mongoose, Mzima springs and underwater hippo and fish, Dik-dik, lesser Kudu and Nocturnal porcupine, prolific birdlife features 600 species.
We’ll be up early again to make the most of our day. This is a pre-breakfast exploration of the park, for us… and the wildlife. And we’ll all enjoy the deepening colours of the land as the sun burns off the early morning dew.
Later, after the delicious fortitude of a safari breakfast, we’ll strike out for Mzima Springs. This unexpected oasis is fed by crystal-clear waters providing a living habitat for aquatic and land creatures. Its lush greenery stands in marked relief from the rugged plains of the park.
We’ll step from our 4 x 4 Jeep and take a nature walk under the raffia-lined shores, looking for hippo, crocodile, colourful fish and birds. Terrestrial wildlife flocks here as well, so be on guard for zebra and giraffe wandering amongst the acacia trees.
