Safari Luggage Guidelines
At AK African Tours and Safaris, we prioritize your comfort and convenience throughout your journey. Our exclusive terminal at Wilson Airport ensures swift and efficient baggage
check-in. As our aircraft are smaller in size, they have limited luggage space compared to larger international airlines. We kindly ask all our clients to adhere to the following luggage dimensions and weight restrictions:
Bag Weight & Size Guidelines
- Maximum luggage weight: 15 kg (33 lbs) in soft-sided
- Checked luggage dimensions: 24 inches (60 cm) height, 18 inches (45 cm) length, 13 inches (33 cm)
- Hand luggage dimensions: 12 inches (30 cm) height, 21 inches (53 cm) length, 9 inches (23 cm)

Excess, Additional Luggage & Storage
- For scheduled flights, you can book and pay in advance for an additional freight seat to carry up to 75 kg (165 lbs) of excess luggage, as long as it complies with our baggage
- If you wish to carry extra luggage, subject to space availability, the following fees apply:
- Local flights: USD 3 + 16% VAT per
- Kilimanjaro and Entebbe flights: USD 4 + 16% VAT per Please note, this option may not be available on the day of departure.
- For charter passengers, additional luggage can be arranged if the aircraft is not filled to
- A complimentary luggage storage facility is available for passengers returning who do not wish to carry excess
- Soft-sided bags are available for purchase at our terminal at the passenger’s
Assistive Devices
- Wheelchairs, canes, walkers, crutches, and other assistive devices will be carried free of charge for qualified passengers with disabilities and are not included in the luggage
- These items must be Baby car seats and foldable prams/strollers are also accepted.
