Sweetwaters Serena Camp

Sweetwaters Serena Camp: Where Luxury Meets Conservation in Ol Pejeta

Welcome to Sweetwaters Serena Camp, one of Kenya’s most iconic luxury tented camps, set inside the heart of Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Picture this: You’re sipping sundowners on your private veranda as elephants amble to the waterhole below. Mount Kenya’s snow-capped peaks glow amber in the fading light. A white rhino emerges from the golden grass. This isn’t a dream, this is Sweetwaters Serena Camp, Kenya’s hidden gem where luxury safari meets real conservation impact. Nestled in the heart of Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Sweetwaters Serena Camp offers something rare: front-row seats to Africa’s most inspiring wildlife comeback story. This isn’t just another safari lodge. It’s your gateway to meeting the last two northern white rhinos on Earth—Najin and Fatu—under 24-hour armed protection.

Sweetwaters Serena Camp is best experienced as part of a custom Ol Pejeta or Laikipia safari itinerary. Book a Safari to Ol Pejeta Conservancy with AK African Tours and Safaris to stay at Sweetwaters Serena Camp or view all Ol Pejeta Conservancy lodges here.

Location

Sweetwaters Serena Camp is located inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy, in Kenya’s scenic Laikipia region, between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare ranges.

The camp sits at the heart of the conservancy, overlooking an active wildlife waterhole, which attracts elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and plains game throughout the day and night. This central position allows guests to enjoy wildlife sightings without leaving the camp.

Ol Pejeta is one of Kenya’s most important conservation areas and home to the last two Northern White Rhinos, making this location both exclusive and globally significant.

The Morani Wing honors the camp’s conservation legacy. The name comes from Morani, the first black rhino introduced to Ol Pejeta in 1989, a pioneer who helped save his species.
