4 Day Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari
Day 01: Arusha – Ngorongoro
3 ½ Hour Drive
7:30 – Get ready to board your private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. Your driver/guide will swing by your hotel, residence, or another place of your choosing to get your safari started.
Heading through Maasai country, keep an eye out for these indigenous people, tending to their cattle as we head for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Standing on the crater rim at Ngorongoro, you know you’re entering another world – one that has kept itself apart from the rest of the planet for thousands of years. Descending into this blue/green ecosystem, we’ll enter a rare space born of an amazing density and variety of wildlife. Lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, rhino, zebra, and more have made this extinct volcano their home for eons.
After a very full day here, we’ll ascend back to the top where a special treat awaits… a spectacular sunset at the crater’s rim.
We’ll spend our first safari evening at our Ngorongoro lodge or tented camp.
Rediscover the calm and beauty of the natural world.
Book your adventure today and create memories that last a lifetime!
Day 02: Ngorongoro – Serengeti
3 Hour Drive
We’re headed to Tanzania’s oldest and largest reserve, the Serengeti. But along our route, we’ll stop at a very special place – the Olduvai Gorge. Immense troves of fossilized remnants from ancient man have been discovered here, including vast numbers of tools. These have provided an invaluable record of human development. It’s an eye-opening experience.
But the great Serengeti is next – it’s a great treeless plain, extending to the horizon, filled with wildebeest, gazelle, zebra, impalas, and exciting populations of lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
We’ll begin our game drives over the vast spaces here looking for wildlife, like the over 50,000 buffalo filling these wide-open grasslands.
We’ll relax and enjoy dinner at our Serengeti safari lodge or tented camp
Queen Elizabeth National Park
This park is a wildlife haven, with a rich variety of animals including lions, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and elephants. Here, you’ll also find Uganda’s famous tree-climbing lions.
Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled with over 611 species filling the skies, including the vibrant inhabitants of Kyambura Gorge—a paradise alive with chimpanzees and other primates.
Day 03: Full-Day at the Serengeti
Plenty of time today to get to know the Serengeti, with unlimited game drives and time for relaxation at your accommodation. The great park has been called one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of Africa” because of its wildlife by the millions and its brilliant display of over 500 colorful bird species.
We’ll take a lunch break to rest and refresh between game drives and then set out tracking for big and small game like honey badger, wild dog, monkey, and baboon.
We’ll also explore the park’s rivers and may even find some unexpected wildlife like hippos and crocodiles.
It will be a very full day. Come evening, we’ll retire to our Serengeti accommodation for dinner and relaxation.
Rwenzori Mountains National Park
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Rwenzori Mountains offers a landscape of cascading waterfalls, serene lakes, and even glaciers atop its peaks. This lesser-known park is a haven for rare flora and fauna.
