Experience the wild heart of Tanzania on our 5 Days–Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari, combining thrilling game drives with breathtaking scenic flights.
Embark on an unforgettable Tanzania safari adventure with our 5 Days–Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari, where every moment brings you closer to nature’s wonders. This immersive journey takes you through three of Tanzania’s most spectacular parks, each offering unique landscapes and remarkable wildlife encounters.
Your journey begins at Lake Manyara National Park, home to tree-climbing lions, flocks of flamingos, and thriving elephant herds. Next, we venture into the legendary Serengeti National Park, where endless plains teem with wildebeests, zebras, and the highest concentration of big cats in Africa. Enjoy exhilarating game drives, witnessing nature’s drama unfold before your eyes.
The adventure continues as we descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a wildlife haven brimming with over 25,000 animals, including the elusive black rhino. As the sun sets over the crater rim, you’ll understand why this safari is a journey of a lifetime.
Day 01: Arusha – Lake Manyara
2 ½ Hour Drive
7:30 am Your safari begins at your hotel, residence, or place of your choosing when your driver/guide comes to pick you up in a 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.
Hop aboard and we’ll take off through the Maasai country, passing local farms and Maasai herders tending to their cattle as we proceed to Lake Manyara Park.
Day 02: Lake Manyara – Serengeti
4 Hour Drive
Let’s rise with the sun and listen to the birdsong as we take in the early morning light softly dappling the park. This is a wonderful time to appreciate the gentle stirrings of nature all about. We’ll breakfast and then head out to the great Serengeti.
We’ll make stops along our route to relax and enjoy a picnic lunch.
And then, we’ll find ourselves in the massive reaches of the world-famous Serengeti. The almost treeless plains are home to uncountable wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, impala, and vast herds of buffalo filling these grasslands out to the horizon.
Our second safari evening will be spent relaxing at our Serengeti lodge or tented camp.
Day 03: Full-Day at the Serengeti
Everything about the Serengeti is immense and impressive – it’s been called one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of Africa”. Even the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word “siringet” meaning “endless plains”.
And as you take your game drives throughout the day over these “endless plains”, you’ll be in awe of the massive amount of wildlife populating this vast expanse – the greatest number of big cats, especially lions of any spot in Africa.
We’ll enjoy a lunch break and some downtime before tracking for more predators and smaller game as well, like monkey, baboon, wild dog, and even the honey badger.
Overhead, we’ll be entertained by an endless sky of over 500 bird species. The park does contain some forest and marsh areas where we’ll look for hippo and crocodile in its rivers.
Come evening, we’ll spend our final night at our Serengeti accommodation.
Day 04: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
3 Hour Drive
The early morning sun will light up the vast plains and its multitudes of predators and grazers emerging from the night. We’ll take in this glorious scene before heading off to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
En route, we’ll stop at the incredible Olduvai Gorge, site of a treasure trove of fossilized artifacts from early man’s development in this area.
And then we arrive at the rim of Ngorongoro – the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. We’ll descend into the crater, a self-contained ecosystem teeming with over 25,000 animals.
We’ll spend the day exploring this thriving world of wildlife cut off from the rest of Africa. Lions, leopards, black rhinos, elephants, monkeys, antelope, and even pink flamingoes occupy this special place.
Then, toward evening, we’ll head back up the volcano’s wall and marvel at a stunning sunset lighting up the crater’s rim.
Our final safari evening will be at our Ngorongoro accommodation.
Day 05: Ngorongoro – Arusha
3 ½ Hour Drive
If we get up early, we can catch another marvel at the crater’s rim – an amazing sunrise.
And then we’re off for our trip back to Arusha. We’ll take some rest stops and enjoy lunch along the way.
We’ll bring you back to your hotel, residence, or place of your choosing.
The best of Tanzania’s parks – Manyara or Tarangire, plus Serengeti and Ngorongoro – you have seen wildlife and landscapes that few have been lucky enough to experience. Planning a safari can be exciting but also overwhelming, especially when you want to balance comfort, convenience, and value. Our 5 Days – Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari is designed for travelers who want to experience Tanzania’s most famous parks while saving time by combining scenic road drives with domestic flights. To make your planning easier, we’ve answered the most common questions about this safari package, from what’s included and the itinerary to comparisons with other options and how to book:
The 5 Days – Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari typically includes a mix of road transfers and domestic flights to reduce travel time while maximizing wildlife viewing. Travelers can expect airport pick-ups, park entry fees, a professional driver-guide, game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles, comfortable full-board accommodation, and flights between destinations such as Serengeti and Arusha. This combination ensures that you experience Tanzania’s landscapes and wildlife with both efficiency and comfort.
The cost of a 5 Days – Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari varies depending on several factors, such as the season of travel, number of travelers, and choice of accommodation (luxury lodges, mid-range camps, or budget options). Since each traveler has unique preferences, we encourage you to contact us directly for a personalized quote that reflects your travel style and requirements.
The main factors influencing safari pricing include the type of accommodation, time of year (peak or low season), park entry fees, and the cost of domestic flights included in the package. Larger groups may benefit from reduced per-person rates, while solo travelers might pay more for private tours. To get the most accurate cost, it’s best to reach out to us with your exact travel details.
A standard 5 Days – Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari itinerary covers multiple iconic parks. It often begins with Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephants and baobabs, followed by Lake Manyara with its tree-climbing lions and birdlife. The safari then moves on to Serengeti National Park, home to the Great Migration and incredible predator sightings, before ending with a visit to Ngorongoro Crater, one of the best places to see the Big Five in one location.
Yes, most 5 Days – Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari packages are designed to include all four of these world-class parks. This creates a diverse experience with different landscapes, wildlife species, and cultural interactions. Tarangire offers large elephant herds, Serengeti is famous for its endless plains and migration, Lake Manyara brings unique birdlife, and Ngorongoro delivers a concentrated wildlife viewing experience in the crater.
By combining flights with road drives, travelers save several hours of transit. For example, the drive from Serengeti to Arusha can take 6–8 hours by road, but just under an hour by air. This means you spend more time enjoying game drives and less time traveling, making the fly-drive safari especially valuable for travelers with limited days but a desire to see multiple destinations.
A 6 Days Tanzania Safari allows for a slower pace and potentially longer stays in each park, but the 5 Days – Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari balances time and convenience by including flights that reduce long road journeys. This makes it possible to see just as much wildlife while keeping the itinerary compact, making it ideal for travelers who want to maximize their experience in fewer days.
The main difference lies in the pace and depth of exploration. A 7 Days Safari gives you extra time to spend longer in Serengeti or add cultural experiences, while the 5 Days – Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari focuses on delivering a rich and efficient safari in less time. Both options offer excellent wildlife sightings, but the 5-day fly-drive is especially convenient for those with limited schedules.
Yes, the 5 Days – Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari is highly customizable. You can choose the type of accommodation that matches your budget, adjust the itinerary to spend more time in specific parks, or add optional experiences like cultural visits. Simply contact us with your preferences, and we will tailor the safari to your needs, ensuring you get the experience you’re looking for.
You can choose from a variety of accommodation options, including luxury lodges with top-class amenities, mid-range tented camps offering comfort and adventure, and budget-friendly options for travelers seeking affordability. All accommodation options are carefully selected to ensure comfort, safety, and proximity to key safari areas, giving you the best possible experience.
Yes, the 5 Days – Tanzania Fly-Drive Safari is ideal for families and first-time safari travelers. Shorter travel times thanks to flights make it less tiring for children, while the diversity of parks ensures engaging wildlife experiences for everyone. First-time safari-goers will appreciate the balanced pace and variety of landscapes, making this package a great introduction to Tanzania.
Booking is straightforward. You can contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone number to discuss your preferred travel dates, group size, and accommodation style. Once we have your details, we’ll create a personalized itinerary and provide a tailored quote. We recommend booking early to secure your preferred lodges and flight schedules, especially during peak safari seasons.
