07:00 hrs.  We will pick you up from your Nairobi area hotel, Nairobi airport or Nairobi area residence. We’ll head out in our 4 x 4 private Jeep through Kenya’s central highlands, viewing coffee, tea, sisal, and pineapple plantations.

Our route takes us past local homesteads, the snow-capped peak of Mt. Kenya, and the equator, crossing into the northern hemisphere. We’ll arrive at Samburu, enjoy lunch and relax. Then, get ready for your first game drive – the first of many over the next 9 days.

The park is rich with large predators like lion and cheetah, and big grazers – buffalo and elephant. Nearby Shaba and Buffalo Springs reserves are green oases promising more wildlife amongst their forests, woodlands, and surprising volcanic formations.

We’ll spend the first of two nights at Samburu at the lodge or tented camp of your choice.

Let’s get up early to make the most of this beautiful day and enjoy the birdsong as we venture out on our first morning game drive.

Besides the big game, the park hosts some unusual species like Grevy’s zebra, beisa oryx, and the reticulated giraffe – animals you won’t commonly find.

We’ll travel along the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River, the life spring of this dry park and the best spot to view the thirsty wildlife.

And surprisingly in this arid reserve, you’ll find a busy assortment of birdlife amongst the forest and riverine vegetation. Look for kingfisher, guinea fowl, egret, falcon, and eagle.

We may also get a glimpse of the local Samburu tribes and their villages.

Our second safari night will be in Samburu at your choice of lodge or tented camp.

Day 03: Samburu Game Reserve – Ol Pejeta (180 km – Approx. 3 Hrs.)

Ol Pejeta amazes with its diversity – lots of predators here, Africa’s famous Big Five… but also a special rhino sanctuary, protecting over one hundred of the endangered species. Here too you’ll find the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can enjoy the antics of these intelligent and playful animals.

We’ll spend the evening at your choice of Ol Pejeta safari lodge or tented camp.

What you may see / do around Ol Pejeta….

Elephants, Tree hyrax, white tailed mongoose, black fronted dicker, mole rat, bushbuck, water buck, Elands, rhino, chimpanzee.

Now it’s a quick drive to Aberdare National Park and the upcountry terrain here is quite different – mountains, rainforest, and cool evening mists.

We’ll arrive in time for lunch and then head to your tree hotel. Enjoy relaxation time from your balcony as you take in the wildlife below at an adjacent watering hole. Look for antelope, elephant, buffalo, hyena, bush pigs, and waterbuck.

We will spend the night at your tree lodge with game viewing from your balcony.

Note: Only small overnight bags are permitted at your tree hotel.

We’ll pass farming country as we traverse the dramatic rises and falls of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Arriving at Lake Nakuru Park, we’ll have time for a bird and game viewing drive. This lovely reserve is pleasing to the eye with its forests and acacia trees.

Some flamingoes dot the lakeshore as well as kingfishers, ostriches, and raptors like herons and eagles. We will also spot rhinos in the protected sanctuary here and be on the lookout for the rare Rothschild’s giraffe nibbling at the branches above.

We’ll spend the night at your safari lodge or tented camp.

Day 06: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha: (340km – Approx. 1 hr.)

Meal Plan: B/L/D

The lake provides a stunning setting for an early game drive, and we’ll enjoy the moment in this beautiful park.

We’ll hop back in the 4 x 4 heading for our next park, Lake Naivasha. This freshwater lake and its surrounding parks will give us plenty of sightings of small game and an abundance of birdlife. It’s a perfect time for a sail across the lake. Let’s glide by dozing hippos as they awake to see us passing by and we’ll take in the active birdlife hovering about. We’ll enjoy a short, guided walking safari to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. This little park is filled with yet more grazing game so check out the wildebeest, waterbuck, and gazelle strolling about.

After lunch, it is now your opportunity to go bicycling in a national park. We’ll take a short bicycle safari to nearby Hell’s Gate National Park and then hike through imposing gorges looking for grazing antelope, zebra, impala, and buffalo. We’ll spend the night at the Lake Naivasha safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.

What you may do at Lake Naivasha …….

Boat ride, bird watching, nature walks, visit to hell’s gate

Day 07: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara (240 km – Approx. 5 hrs.)

Meal Plan: B/L/D

We’ve seen and experienced a lot this past week, but now it’s time to set our sights for the jewel in the crown of Kenya’s wildlife parks – Masai Mara National Reserve.

We will arrive at the park in time for an afternoon game drive, the first of many here. The reserve reflects an outstanding ecosystem, known for supporting the highest concentration of wildlife in this region. You’ll soon see examples of this as we go tracking the Big Five and the more than 90 mammal species in the park.

We’ll spend the next two nights at the Masai Mara at the safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.

Book your adventure today and create memories that last a lifetime!

Day 08: Full day Masai Mara

Meal plan: B/L/D

Today we will traverse the savannahs, hills, and rivers, searching for all the big game. The Masai Mara is famous for its many sightings of lion, cheetah, hyena and other predators. We’ll also see if we can spot Topi, eland, and birds like stork, kingfisher, and hornbills in this fertile ecosystem.

If you’re seeing great processions of wildebeests and zebra marching through the reserve, you’re most likely here during the migrating season – July through October. That’s when vast herds invade the park, crossing the Mara River in a never-ending search for sustenance. We’ll picnic by the Mara River, site of the crossing and look for hippos and crocodiles plying the muddy waters.

For an up-close cultural encounter, we offer an optional visit to the local Maasai tribespeople in their nearby village. You’ll be able to learn about their lifestyle and perhaps purchase some colorful beaded souvenirs. For a truly unforgettable experience take advantage of our optional pre-dawn balloon safari over the park. You’ll get an eagle’s eye view of the park coming to life as the animals below awake to a fresh, new day. Just ask your driver/guide to make the arrangements.

Our final night at the Masai Mara will be at the safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.

Day 09: Masai Mara – Nairobi (265km – Approx. 5 hrs.)

Meal plan: B.

After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge/camp, your dedicated driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi – Kenya’s colorful capital city.

On the way, your guide will point out the Longonot extinct volcano which is a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. It is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s and its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong’ot, meaning “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges “.

We will bring you to your Nairobi hotel, residence or the airport. Nine days, nine parks and a whole lot of adventures. You’re now an experienced safari-goer with the tales to match your experience. We hope you enjoyed this holiday of a lifetime, and we thank you for your trust and your support. Let’s all stay in touch for more African safaris in the future!

From pricing and inclusions to comparisons with shorter or longer safaris, this guide will help you make the best decision for your dream African safari adventure. Here are the most frequently asked questions:

The package is carefully designed to cover all the essentials for a smooth safari experience. It typically includes game drives in top national parks, professional guides, accommodation, meals, and park entry fees. Some itineraries may also feature cultural visits, scenic drives, and opportunities to spot the Big Five and other unique wildlife. This means once you book, most logistics are taken care of, leaving you free to focus on enjoying your safari adventure.

The cost of the safari depends on a few important factors such as your travel season, whether you prefer budget-friendly lodges or luxury camps, and the size of your group. Since every traveler has unique needs, we provide personalized quotes that reflect your preferences. For the most accurate cost breakdown, we recommend contacting us directly so we can tailor the package to you.

In general, longer safaris like the 9-day package give you more time in multiple destinations, allowing you to explore Kenya at a more relaxed pace. Shorter safaris, such as a 5–7 day option, might feel rushed and focus only on one or two parks. A 9-day journey strikes the balance between value and experience, ensuring you don’t miss out on Kenya’s diverse wildlife and landscapes. For cost details based on your exact preferences, please reach out to us.

Yes, absolutely. Most safari packages, including this one, start and end in Nairobi. The city is a convenient gateway with international airport access and excellent road and flight connections to Kenya’s major national parks. Whether you’re arriving from overseas or connecting from another Kenyan destination, starting from Nairobi makes your safari logistics smooth and stress-free.

Yes, we cater to a wide range of budgets by offering different safari styles. Budget-conscious travelers can opt for camping or mid-range lodges, while those looking for comfort can enjoy luxury tented camps or boutique lodges. Our team works with you to find the right balance between affordability and comfort so you still enjoy the full safari experience without compromising on quality. Unlike shorter safaris, the 9-day package is crafted to give travelers more time to immerse themselves in Kenya’s natural wonders. You’ll cover iconic parks like Maasai Mara, Amboseli, and Lake Nakuru, offering varied landscapes and wildlife encounters. With more days, you enjoy less rushed game drives, better chances of seeing the Big Five, and time for cultural experiences. This makes it a well-rounded safari holiday that combines adventure, wildlife, and relaxation.

The price of a safari in Kenya varies widely depending on factors like the type of accommodation, travel season, and the parks included. While some travelers prefer budget-friendly safaris, others opt for luxury experiences with private guides and exclusive lodges. Since every trip is unique, the best way to know your safari cost is by contacting us directly for a personalized quote based on your travel style and expectations.

Yes, we specialize in creating tailor-made safari itineraries. While the 9-day safari is a popular choice, we can adjust it to fit your schedule and preferences. Whether you want to spend more time in Maasai Mara, include a cultural tour with the Maasai people, or extend your holiday with a beach stay in Diani or Mombasa, our team can customize your trip to match your exact needs.

When booking this package, you can expect thrilling game drives where you’ll see lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and more in their natural habitat. Beyond wildlife, the experience includes breathtaking scenery such as the flamingo-filled Rift Valley lakes, rolling savannahs of Maasai Mara, and the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with local culture and enjoy guided insights into Kenya’s ecosystems. This makes the 9-day safari more than just a holiday—it’s a complete African adventure.

A 10-day safari allows for an extra day of relaxation or an additional park visit. This can make the trip even more rewarding if you prefer a slower pace or want to see more destinations. For a breakdown of how a 10-day safari compares to the 9-day option in terms of cost and inclusions, we encourage you to contact us for a tailored recommendation.

A 7-day safari is shorter but still offers a taste of Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes. However, the reduced time often means fewer parks and a tighter schedule. With a 9-day safari, you enjoy more variety, better chances of spotting rare animals, and a more relaxed pace. To know whether a 7-day or 9-day safari suits you best, get in touch with us and we’ll help you compare the two.

For most travelers, a safari in Kenya feels complete within 7 to 10 days, as this duration allows time to explore multiple parks and enjoy a balance between adventure and relaxation. A 9-day safari stands out as an ideal choice because it provides enough time to visit iconic destinations like Maasai Mara, Amboseli, and Lake Nakuru without feeling rushed. It also gives you flexibility to enjoy cultural interactions, scenic drives, and downtime at your lodges or camps. This makes the 9-day option a perfect blend of variety, depth, and comfort for a truly unforgettable safari holiday.
